Tour Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site with its beautiful buildings and torii gate which is located in the middle of the sea. Stroll through the magnificent shrine buildings whose impression changes with the rise and fall of the tides.

11:30 AM 12:30 PM   -   Momijidani Park


From the fresh leaves of spring to the colors of late autumn, you can enjoy Momijidani Park all throughout the seasons. After a walk through the park, have lunch at the locally recommended Yamamura Chaya (Yamamura Teahouse).

12:40 PM 01:40 PM   -   Miyajima Ropeway


Head up Mt. Misen by ropeway. After boarding at Momijidani Station, transfer at Kayadani Station to head for Shishiiwa. Enjoy the superb view from the Shishiiwa Observatory. Take the ropeway back down the same way to return to Momijidani Station. Then head to Homotsu-kan via Momijidani Park.

02:00 PM 02:50 PM   -   Homotsu-kan (Treasure Hall)


Homotsu-kan possesses numerous National Treasures and National Important Cultural Properties. Along with the Heike-no-Ukyo sutra, precious cultural properties including swords and helmets can be seen here. Afterwards, you can also tour the adjacent Tahoto pagoda which was constructed in the 16th century.

03:00 PM 04:00 PM   -   Daisho-in


Walk over to Daisho-in Temple which is the oldest temple on the island. There are many sites to see within its huge grounds including precious Buddhist statues and architecture. One recommendation is to select the sites that you want to see, taking into consideration the boarding time for the ferry going back to the mainland.
