Hello, I'm 21 years old at the moment I'm writing this.
I have a question about those scholarships offered by MEXT for foreign students. I'm brazilian, currently studying on a private university in Brazil which I'm sure that they do not have any program for studying abroad, so, I was searching for good ways to live on Japan legally.
The only problem is that when I was looking at MEXT's scholarships, they said I have to have 18 to 21 years old on 04/01/2019. My birthday is on 03/01, so on this date I'll have 22 years old, what is unfair. Alright.
Now, I'm trying to search another possibility to go to Japan TO STUDY, not only to work.
Can you guys help me with this?
Thanks!
This is probably because you are applying for under-graduate. If you apply for MEXT scholarship for graduates or postgraduates (example: for master course or specialization), you can apply being older.
Besides, have you tried researching for universities in the main cities, for example, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Kumamoto, Hiroshima.
Try tracking down as many universities as you can and contacting them directly by email, asking if the university itself has any scholarship programs that you could apply. Normally they reply within 1 or 2 business days. You could try your luch doind that!
