Hi I'm an international student and this is my 3rd week here in Japan and I can't read kanji which makes it hard for me to find food in Japan since I have not found anything with "Halal" mark on it. Can you help me with kanji that i have to pay attention to when looking for food ?

You can try to look for the following kanji and words:
豚 : Pork
ポーク : Pork
酒 : Sake (Japanese alcohol)
味醂 : Mirin (Japanese cooking alcohol)
ワイン : Wine
ゼラチン : Gelatin
アルコール : Alcohol
ベーコン : Bacon
