Hi. I am travling to Japan this summer between 9 - 19 July. I will be visting Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. In that context i was wondering if somebody could give me av answer to these questions:
1. Do hotels in japan take Visa card?
2. How is it to find the right track and road on the subway in Japan?
3. Is there anything useful offline apps that may be expedient to download before traveling to Japan?
4. Have heard that it is best to take cash to Japan but are there shops where I can use common Visa cards and where is the most appropriate to take out the cash in Japan?

Hello Lars,
1. Large/well known hotels take Visa cards, I don't know about small hotels.
2. If you need help, just ask the train station staff. You can also use www.hyperdia.com to search for train routes.

4. Lots of large stores in cities take credit cards but small/old stores don't so bringing cash is better. You can also take out cash from the ATM at the convenient store Seven Eleven.
5. For famous sightseeing spots, there will be signs and maps at the train station so it shouldn't be too difficult. If you have trouble, just ask people walking around or in stores.
