Hi,
I'll go to Tokyo for 2 weeks, and then I wanna move to the west of Japan for like a week to discover Kyoto, mostly. But I guess there are other awesome place to discover in a week in West-Japan.
I just have one thing to deal with : I have to fly to Shanghai after that.
So I wanted to know where I could travel in the west of Japan to discover the most awesome stuff of the country, knowing that I'll be starting from Tokyo, and have to end in a international airport which could bring me to Shanghai.
Last detail : what would be the best-cheap way to go to all those places? Train? Bus?
Thanks a lot. Olivier

Hi Olivier,
The international airport in the west part of Japan would be Kansai International Airport (KIX). It's near Osaka and also has good access from Kyoto. You'll have to check but I'm sure they have flights to Shanghai from there.
While in the Kansai area, other than visiting Kyoto, you can also go sightsee in Nara, Osaka, Kobe. The easiest way of travel would be the train since the cities are not so far from each other, maybe 30 min - 1 hour so the train fee is cheap.
Hope you enjoy discovering the Kansai area!
