I’m going to be arriving at Kochi airport for my trip around the island of Shikoku. I've been to other parts of Japan so I'm pretty familiar with the public transport system. Which train/bus do I need to take to get to downtown Kochi from the airport?

I don't think there are any trains running to the airport, just the bus. You can get on the bus from the airport and get to JR Kochi station in about 30 minutes.
