I’ll be stopping at Mt. Fuji on my way up the coast from the Osaka/Kyoto area. How do I get to Tokyo from there? Is bus better or is the train better? Maybe the view is better by train? Thanks for the advice.

If you're taking the bus, the Fuji Kyuko Bus has a bus that runs directly from the Mt. Fuji area to major train stations in Tokyo. http://bus-en.fujikyu.co.jp/
As for the train, if you're starting from Kawaguchiko station or Fujisan station, you’ll need to ride the Fujikyukko line to Otsuki station.
