I understand that onsen don't normally allow people with tattoos to enter, but I'm hoping someone knows of a place in Tokyo that goes against the norm and allows tourists with tattoos. I'd really like to experience a real onsen while visiting Tokyo.

Jakotsu-yu is not a real onsen, but it is a public bathhouse that uses onsen water in Asakusa. There’s also an Onsen facility in Narita (Yamato-no yu) but not near the airport, which allows people with tattoos. http://www.yamatonoyu.com/eng/index.asp
