Rodrigo Coelho
Hello everyone!
I'm planning a trip to Japan and one of the things I find most fascinating are of course the temples.
But I know there are a lot of correct ways of praying, varying from temple to temple. SO I wanted to know for example: Should I clap when praying? What to do around temples in Japan? How to go to temples, how to read the fortune telling and etc.
Can someone please help me?
Thank you!
Hi Antonio! This is Coelho from Planetyze.
We have created a video talking exactly about this in the "Japan Fan" youtube channel!
You can check the video out here:
How to enjoy a temple in Japan - Sensoji - Tokyo - Strawberry Mochi Cameo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYreEa12Sr4
In this video you will learn how to enjoy a temple in Japan. There are many things you can do in a temple, and most of them have a correct way of doing it, like how to wash your hands in a temple or how to pray, should you clap in a temple or not, and etc.
In this video you will see:
-Food and Shopping in Japanese Temples;
-How to read omikuji, how to read your fortune in Japanese Temples;
-What are the incenses, or Senkou for;
-How to wash your hands in the temple - how to purify your body washing your hands;
-How to pray in temples in Japan - how to offer your prayers;
-Temples and Shrine stamps (Goshuin);
-Taking pictures with people wearing traditional clothes.
We really hope you like the video! We had a lot of fun making it . ⌒°(❛ᴗ❛)°⌒ Please help us by liking, subscribing and sending to your friends!
