We’ll be visiting Kanazawa for the first time. We’re planning to take an early Shinkansen from Tokyo so we should be there by around 9am. The next day, we’ll be going on a bus tour to Shirakawago so we only have one day to see the sights. Can anyone help us with a one day itinerary of the main sights? Thank you.

Start from Kanazawa station. There's a tourist information center on the ground floor and a transport information center just outside the main exit if you need any help. Head for Kenrokuen Garden and then the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. After that go see Kanazawa castle. You can have lunch at or around Omicho market and then explore the market afterwards. Last go see the Higashi-Chaya area, and maybe have a cup of green tea with some sweets to go along.
