Akane
We've already booked accommodations in Naha and the Manza resort, but wanted to know if there are any really close islands to which we can go on a day trip. I’ve heard that the beaches and the water clarity are much better on the other islands.

The Kerama islands are really close to Naha. Only about 30min. - 1.5 hour away depending on which ferry you take. You can catch a ferry to the Kerama Islands from Tomari Port in Naha. Tokashiki Island is the nearest. (Take the monorail to Miebashi Station and from there it is about 10 minutes to the port by foot.) You can get to Tokashiki in about 1 hour for about 3,000 yen, or you can take the fast ferry and be there in about 35 minutes. For a bit more money and time, you can go to Zamami Island. Both islands are nice but Zamami has some great snorkeling from the beach.
