Travel tips for...
Tokyo

Hi Christopher, I replied to a similar question in Japan, so it may be useful for you, I'll leave the answer here:
Japan has only one timezone, the JST - Japan Standard time. And THERE'S NO DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME which make things a lot easier to plan.

The UTC - Universal Time Code for Japan is UTC+09:00.
San francisco for comparison is UTC-08:00, 17h after Japan.

Right now, San francisco is in Daylight Savings time, which is +1. So  your current timezone is UTC-07:00 which is 16 hours after Japan.

That means that WITHOUT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS, if it's 10AM of monday in San francisco, it will be 17 hours later in Japan, so it will be 3AM of tuesday in Tokyo.
And with Daylight savings time, it would be 2AM in Tokyo.

For comparison, here are some timezones:

Japan
JST: UTC+9

United States of America
PST: UTC -08:00

CST: UTC -06:00
EST: UTC -05:00

Here's a handy link of the current time in many cities in the world compared to Tokyo:

Rome time; San francisco time; New york time; Rio de Janeiro time; Salt Lake City time, Santiago time, Sydney, Zürich,

And you can add other cities if you want:

I hope this helps =)
