We have a 6 hour layover at Narita airport this summer. I'd like to take my family to see a temple in the Narita area if possible. Is there a temple nearby? And is it difficult to go there?

You can go to Naritasan temple. It's a famous temple and lots of Japanese people go there on New Year's Day to get blessings for the New Year.
I don't think it's difficult to get there it takes about 30 min total. Just take the train, Keisei line to Keisei Narita station or the JR Narita line to Narita station, and it's about a 15 min. walk from there.
There's also a tour you can take.
